Yes we are home. Two weeks away from home almost flattened me. By Wednesday as we went the fly home I was a wreck. I don't know how we made it home. I was in a half daze the entire time.
Our holiday was memorable to say the least. Instead of a play by play I'll give you the highlights. Stayed at Josh & Becky's for over a week. Enjoyed the snow there. Jon and the kids spent lots of time outside building a fort. Josh helped out one day by pushing snow up to the fort with his tractor. Went to the Hays for a night and then to Breadalbane for Sunday morning service. Ian, Kathleen and the kids are always a blessing to us. Spent Chirstmas morning with Josh and Becky and Papa and Nana. While we where up at Josh's my Grandma De Graaf got sick and passed away. This took my parents down to Hamilton for a few days. We were sad to not have them with us while they were gone. But still enjoyed being able to spend so much time with Josh and Becky.
On Boxing Day we were to go down to Hamilton to see Scott and Liz (my cousin and his wife.) The Ottawa valley was hit to freezing rain and so we delayed our departure until after lunch. It wasn't any better but we felt we should try to brave the weather. After a tense drive we made it half way to my Grandparents ( the Orrs). We stopped for supper and a short visit and continued on. Unfortunately we had missed the party by the time we made it to Scott and Liz's house. All my other cousins had been there, but because we had arrived so late they had all left already. We opened presents with Scott and Liz the next day. It was nice to spend time with them. We attended my Grandma's funeral on Tuesday. We found it very tiring but it was good to be there for my Dad. Our sympathy to my anut and uncles who lost a mother. then early Wednesday morning we drove to the Toronto Airport to come home. trying not to loose a kid or any luggage we navigated through the crowds, line-ups and security, then finally got on the plane. I really don't like flying. Oh well, we made it home safe and are happy to be in our own beds.
We do miss our family though. We had a wonderful Christmas.
