Living in a small town of a few hundred people it doesn't take much of an event to create a stir around here. The Olympic flame passed through town today on its' way to Vancouver for the Olympics
in February. Our family like many others love the Olympics and we got out to see the torch run. It was a beautiful winter day today a balmy -1 degrees. Not bad compared to the -40 C from a couple days ago! So a perfect day for the Torch to come through. It was a bigger ordeal than I thought. I figured we would have a couple police cars and a torch runner. We had alot of police and then a couple of buses advertising Coke and RBC which were pumping up the crowd. It was a great time. As the torch was transferred to the next runner in town everyone in the street sang "O Canada." After that the runner was off and a few jogged alongside the flame as it made its' way out of town. We visited with a number of people after. Actually even got our family picture taken later too by one of Amie's friend's for our prayer card. It should look pretty good in the snow.
After that I towed the kids home in the sled and Elijah went out skating with some friends on their backyard rink. He had a ton of fun with them. A great winter day!
Great blog honey. Thanks for sharing your life here.
