Amie and I used up our Airmiles to fly out to Victoria. We were scheduled to fly out Wednesday but it stormed in Regina and after sitting in the airport for a couple hours our flight was canceled. Not a good start. Thankfully, we were able to rebook but had to take a flight the next day that left at 8 pm with an arrival time of 12 am (2 AM sask time). So not ideal but we took it! We had a fun flight out to Victoria. A nice stop over in the Vancouver airport for an hour. The place was completely dead because it was so late...Tim Horton's was even closed and we desperately needed caffeine to get through the rest of the night. So, we walked till we found a Starbucks still open!! That worked till we got on the plane where we fell asleep for the short 15 minute flight to the Island.

When we arrived in Victoria we were in for 2 more surprises.
1. Air Canada lost Amie's bag. So she had no clean clothes for the next day. And we had no toothbrushes, hair product, ect!
2. I had originally rented a sub-compact car but when we arrived all they had left was a brand new Ford Explorer fully loaded with leather seats and sunroof! Very very nice! And very fun to drive!
On Friday, we headed out onto the downtown of Victoria and had a great day. The weather was amazing and we walked many of the streets enjoying different foods and shops that are in Victoria. (Notice the name of the boat behind Amie).

Saturday and Sunday we spent with our good friends Kevin and Christy who just moved out to Victoria. Kevin is Outreach Pastor at a local church in downtown Victoria. We had a good visit with them and enjoyed checking out his church Sunday morning. Then Sunday afternoon I watched the Rider game at their place. And what a game it was!

Monday we came back to life at home. We landed in the afternoon and had to get back into parent mode right away as the kids had swimming lessons right after supper...it's good to be home!
