Deadlines

Well it is May! With it comes Spring and new life! Opportunities seem to grow as the weather changes and we are freed from the confines of warm homes and winter jackets.

With this May, deadlines come for us as a family. Deadlines can be good because there is a sense of completion when things are accomplished on time. But, deadlines also bring anxiety and questions of how things will get done. Somehow, when I was in Seminary the deadlines I had I was usually able to meet.

But, with going to Africa the deadlines are still there but they are out of my control. With that comes a new opportunity to learn and trust God in faith. And that is what this time has been for us.

At this point we have a few deadlines fast approaching us. First, is our financial deadline. We are required by Africa Inland Mission to have 100% raised before we go. The deadline is JUNE 13th. Why June? It has to do with our airline tickets. They must be purchased a month prior or if we don't have the money pledged or coming in they will cancel our flights. So, needless to say this is on our minds. We have 60% pledged to the work right now for our monthly budget. So, we are excited to see how God provides the rest in these next few days and weeks.

We also have deadlines of Amie finishing work. Sometime around May 30th. Which will be another one of those steps of faith for us especially if we do not have all of our money into AIM yet. Also, taking the kids out of school middle of June.
We have more immunizations the middle of May as well.
There are still many many things to put in order too before we go overseas.

We appreciate your prayers for these things as the day for our departure draws closer.

  1. Wow! That's enough deadlines to make most of us fret...but just like you say, it is an opportunity. Is your financial deadline June 13th or May 13?
