1. What are you doing with your stuff?
We are storing what we didn't sell or throw away in a small 20 foot container.
2. Are you living in a mud hut?
Unfortunately, no, or should I say fortunately! We are living in a 3 bedroom flat at a place called Hamilton Courts (has a nice Canadian ring to it) but doubt there is a Tim Horton's franchise around the corner!
3. What will you be doing?
I will be teaching at a place called Pwani Bible Institute. A school that is designed for training pastors and ministry workers in Kenya.

4. What will you be teaching?
Your guess is as good as mine! Well, I kind of have an idea but not really. It sounds like semester planning comes quite late so I am seeing a lot of class planning being crammed in before lessons are actually taught! Since Pwani is run on the Bible Institute model I suspect primarily I will be teaching bible courses! Surprise Surpise!
5. What are your children going to do for schooling?
We are going to homeschool the first year. Amie has taken on this role and is quite excited about journeying through the educational process with our children. Papa and Nana bought Kindles for us so we will be able to have access to more reading materials while we are in Kenya too!
6. When will you start teaching?
Probably not till January. AIM values cultural bonding. So, we will be challenged with the first few months of gaining our bearings and doing language study in Swahili.
7. What will you be doing for your first few months then?
When we land we will head over to the Mayfield guesthouse, after that we go to ABO for three weeks where we will be trained in security, safety, health, ministry, and religious issues in Africa. We will also be exposed to real experiences it will not all be classroom stuff. From there we will head into Nairobi for some more specific language training. Basically, the training is about learning to speak a new language. Finally from there we get to go to Mombasa. So, we won't be arriving there till probably late August! It will be a long journey of lots of moving about so we would appreciate your prayers for all of that.
8. How is your financial support now?
We have been blessed beyond words. We are just so grateful to everyone who has partnered with us to participate in this work in Kenya. We are currently at 95% of our monthly support. We need just under another $300 a month. So, we would appreciate your prayers that we would reach full support before departure. If you are interested in participating just go to https://www.aimint.org/can/give/online-giving.html
9. Where are you living in June and the first half of July?
We depart July 13th out of Toronto. So, in the meantime we are living at my parents on the farm in Sask. Then in the beginning of July we are heading out to Eastern Ontario to visit with Amie's family there.
If you have any other questions feel free to post them in the comments and we will answer them!
