Amie had a good idea that we should be putting our Friday Updates on the Blog too. So, here it is again for those of you that don't get the emails! If you want to be on the email list let us know.

Dear Family and Friends,
The day has almost come. We are 5 days away from departure.
We have been spending time with family in Ontario. It has been good to relax and make memories with loved ones. On Sunday we were at two morning church services Revive at 9 am and Breadalbane Baptist at 11 am. Revive is a church plant started by the Breadalbane church. We enjoyed being at both congregations. Afterwards, we had a BBQ at the Hay's and many more from the church joined us. We had a great time.
We have all kinds of emotions as we prepare to leave. It's strange. Our whole way of thinking has to change. We keep catching ourselves in thoughts of when we go back to Saskatchewan we will do this or that. And then we catch ourselves realizing that will not be happening. We are excited at the adventure ahead and how God will lead.
Thank-you to all of you who have journeyed with us through prayer and giving.
Prayer requests:
1. For full monthly financial support. We have been blessed again this week with more partners joining together with us. We are just less than $200 short of our month to month needs now. Praise the Lord. We also do have an excess in our one-time budget so if need be the Mission will use that. But, Africa Inland Mission would like for us to save that excess for either a vehicle fund or small emergency fund.
2. For good health to fly. Elijah has come down with a stomach bug today and is quite sick.
3. That God would be with our families as they deal emotionally with our leaving the country.
4. That God would give us a good flight with the children through all the airports.
Well, that's it for Friday Updates from Canada for at least a couple years. We have been told our internet will not be very good at Africa Based Orientation in Machkos, Kenya. So, there may be erratic updates till the end of August. We will begin to get settled in Mombasa after August 20th.
with love,
Jon, Amie, Elijah, Grace, and Ian Chalmers
