Here we are in Mombasa

Thankyou for all your prayers we have arrived in Mombasa! It is a new adjustment again. Mombasa is so different than Nairobi. We are in the beginning stages of preparing our home and getting ready for the work ahead. It is hard to be patient with ourselves and realize that it takes time to set up a house and get to know a new place. We are accustoming ourselves to transportation and businesses in the area. We were able to visit Pwani Bible Institute the other day and meet the principal. Pwani has recently changed their name to Pwani International College. I will begin teaching in January which will give me a few months to do some Swahili study. There is much to be in prayer for as we adjust to life here. It is like getting married again because we have nothing and have to set up in a new city. Right now we are eating at a plastic table we bought and some plastic patio chairs. At least it is something. We have bought mattresses to sleep on, a cooker (gas/electric stove), and we splurged and bought a washing machine.

This is our new home. We are on the top floor which we are very thankful for because we seem to catch a bit of the sea breeze. (Click on the pic if you want a larger view...our internet uploads slow here so we have to use the small pics).

This is our good friend Peter who has been working with us to facilitate our arrival here. He and his wife have been amazing. Letting us sleep in their home for three nights as we just made our house liveable. The picture is taken just outside of Fort Jesus before we went for a little walk thru Old Town Mombasa with 2 other AIM families.

The kids desperately needed a break the other day. So, we went up the coast to a hotel/resort and were able to buy a day pass. We went swimming in the ocean and in their pool. The view as you can see was amazing!

Finally, they made it. Awhile back we posted a pic with the action packers being filled. Well, now the action packers are being unpacked slowly. Pole Pole (as they say here.)
